Awareness of Cognitive Enhancers The season is finally here, many college students are making their way into the library and cramming information left and right for finals in hopes of not failing. With scholarly grades, comes hours of study sessions and hard work which results in an tremendous amount of stress put on an individual. As a result, many students resort to a different route and illegally acquire cognitive enhancements drugs in hopes of balancing their education and personal life. My first experience with these â€Å"Smart Drugs† was during finals week in my senior year of highschool, I was given several adderall pills from a close scholar friend and he briefly explained how these pills would aid me greatly during this stressful time. The first pill I took, I felt a great euphoric feeling within minutes and I knew this wouldn’t be the last time I would take this. Education in today’s society can be perceived as a competition between students as employers are searching to recruit the t op students out of college. Therefore, students will do anything at any cause to be categorized as the top of their class. With all this in mind, it becomes apparent that college students find the need to use cognitive enhancing drugs to gain an edge among their education due to the superior benefits gained through the use of it. These children pretend to be egocentric and try to look at the things from others perspective. Once these children feel improvement in their language, they tend to be more tangible in their thinking. In this preoperational stage, there would be emergence of language and thinking in children of Jack age. Even though, children seem pretending at this age, they are very concrete about the things around them. There would not be much development of logic and understanding of others. These children never remain constant with particular aspect. These children start learning and memorising. These childrens world is mostly self-centred. These children develop social interaction skills by playing and collaborating with children of the same age (Semmar and Al-Thani, 2015). There is development of increase in attention span, reading ability and performing routine tasks. There is possibility of development of negative aspects in these children like lying, reverting to elders and bullying. Children can locate exact location of the large red pillow. Children of this age develop magical thinking. Children start expecting gifts through telephone, while they are talking to parents over the telephone (Loureno, 2016). Well parented children of this age, are sure of themselves, feel elated and proud of themselves. Children of this age develop significant relationship with the parents and family members. These children get trained for toileting and clothing themselves from their parents. These children observe their peers and start using tools from them and making arts. These children get control over motor abilities and start exploring surroundings and people around them. Parents should make sure that children are not exploring th e things which are dangerous to their health. These children develop interests in plants and animals. Development of courage and independence from the parents would be helpful in developing social connect for children of Jacks age. These children start taking initiative to achieve goals and take leadership role among their peers. Goal achieving behaviour may develop into the negative attitude in the children which include aggressiveness, ruthlessness and over assertiveness to parents. These children also develop overenthusiastic attitude which might interfere with parents plans. These children try to copy parents and other adults. These children try playing with toy phones and miniature cars (Gilleard and Higgs, 2016). Muscle control, balance and coordination in the preschool children like Jack would be helpful in learning skills like managing and taking control of their own bodies. Based on their physical strength, these children learn what their bodies can do and cant do. Coordination and balance would be helpful in the development of cognitive skills like buttoning or using sliverware. Physical and motor strength would be helpful in the development of cognitive skills like holding pencil and writing, brushing teeth and hair. Physical development can also be helpful in proper functioning of the brain. It can be exemplified by the example of kicking the ball. Physical strength of the leg is necessary for kicking the ball. At the same time, visual and auditory function of the brain should be optimum to kick the ball either hard or soft (Chaddock-Heyman et al., 2014; Carson et al., 2016). Parents should engage themselves in proper cognitive development of the children by making meaningful interactions which would be helpful in the creating connections with the environment and understanding the way in which things are happening. Parents should also teach children how, things should be done, how to behave with others and how to handle others emotions. All these activities would be helpful in improving existing skills and developing new skills. For proper social and cognitive development of children, parents should work with full potential of the children. Also, parents should be respectful and sensitive to the children. These children exhibit social involvement by reacting to others emotions. Even though, these children dont understand anything, they start crying when others cry and start laughing when others laugh. These children start linking these expressions, initially to feelings and then to words. Parents can influence cognitive development of children through fam ily-level environmental pathway and genetic pathway. Psychological aspects of the parent and stress level also have implication in the social and cognitive development of the children. Warm, accepting and helpful nature of the parents can improve social and cognitive development of children. Neglectful parents keep children away, hence it would affect development of children. Authoritarian and permissive parenting styles are associated with the less development of the children (Fraser et al., 2013; Byford et al., 2012). There may be less social interaction in case of Jack. It is evident from his inability to speak. Children of his age, usually learn to speak by talking to other peers and parents. Even though other children are talking, Jack is not speaking fluently because he is not socially involved with other children. Less social interaction of Jack is also evident from his inability of toileting. Parents make aware children about toileting. This can be achieved by social interaction of the children with their parents. Behavioural genetic research should be carried out in children to completely understand cognitive and social development. To achieve, social and cognitive development in the children, parents behaviour should be of parents characteristics and not child characteristic. In conclusion, development of children of Jack age, should be studied with respect to established theories which corresponds to their age. Physical development of this age group children should be correlated with the cognitive development. Machiavelli When you speak of Fidel Castro, what do you speak of? The Cuban Leader is not your everyday leader. To fully understand Fidel Castro you must have a firm foundation with which to work from. I will explore the political ideology of Fidel Castro by explaining what is in an ideology, Fidel Castro's background, and his political position both before the Cuban revolution and presently. An ideology is a number of action-oriented, materialistic, popular, and simplistic political theories that were originally developed as an accommodation to the social and economic conditions created by the Industrial Revolution (Baradat 13). The action can be broken into a five-part definition for idealistic purposes. To begin, the term ideology can be used in many contexts, but unless otherwise specified it is proper to give it a political meaning. All ideologies provide an interpretation of the present and a view of the desired future. This desirable future is thought to be attainable in a single lifetime. Each ideology includes a list of specific steps that can be taken to accomplish its goals. Ideologies are oriented towards the masses, and finally, ideologies are simply stated and presented in motivational terms. In speaking of Fidel Castro and his ideologies I will apply these five definitional segments. Many theorists believe Cuban Leader Fidel Castro was directed in his political thought from an early age. He was born on May 13, 1927, on his families sugar plantation in the town of Mayari, Cuba. As a boy, Castro worked on the family plantation, and at age 6 was able to persuade his parents to send him to school. He attended two Jesuit institutions, eventually entering a Jesuit preparatory school; a member of the Roman Catholic Society of Jesus founded by Saint Ignatius Loyola in 1534 and devoted to missionary and educational work. Both through his first hand look at the oppression of individuals and the importance of education help to shape Fidel Castro, and differentiate what was right and wrong. Three years later, in 1945 Castro attended the University of Havana Faculty of Law. That same year he was so fed up with the oppressed working class that he unionized the workers of his father's plantation to fight for a voice in exercising their rights. After graduation from Law School in 1950 be began practicing in Havana with two partners. As a lawyer he devoted himself to helping the poor. Although very active in politics throughout his college career, it was in 1952 that Castro first attempted to run for national politics. Just as Castro intended to campaign for a parliamentary seat, General Fuligenico Batista overthrew the government of President Carlos Prio Socarras in a coup and cancelled the election. Trying to oppose the military dictatorship through peaceful means and failing led Castro to head an armed attack of 165 men, calling themselves the 26th of July Revolutionary Movement. Failing completely through his violent attack, Castro and his brother Raul were taken prisoner until May 1955. After much recruiting, on New Year's Day in 1959 he succeeded in overthrowing the dictatorship of Batista. It was one week later that the United States officially recognized Castro's new government. It was shortly after this time in 1961, and now in power, that Fidel Castro announced to the world that he was a Marxist ?Leninist and would remain so until the last day of his life. The question that arises when you first hear this is what is a Marxist-Leninist ideology and does Fidel Castro qualify to call himself such a thinker. Many theorists argue that Fidel Castro isn't attached to any particular ideology. His only goal is survival and power. Strong evidence pointing to this fact is that Fidel Castro survived the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union. In the case of Castro, however, if you dig enough in search for an underlying ideology, you will find that his thought and action is closer to that of a Marxist- Leninist than to any other ideology. It is for certain that he was a young revolutionist in his preliminary political life. Remember it was he who led the country of Cuba into a revolution against the political power, President Batista, in 1959, believing that change would only happen if he burnt down the political system and rebuilt on its ashes. After the rebellion was over the entire population had to be radicalized, attitudes changed, traditions destroyed, the popular support maintained and deepened, viable organizations and institutions created, and social justice distributed.
